The Shiverin’ Sheiks

We were very excited to welcome one of our favourite Glasgow bands, The Shiverin’ Sheiks, back to the cafe last Friday evening! They’ve played for us once before, back in July, so we thought we’d use this excuse to share some of the amazing photos from that gig taken by our friend Marc at One Big Picture Photography

The band joined us for for one of our Soul BBQ Soul Sessions which have become a regular fixture in the Three Sisters Bake social calendar over the past few months. Soul BBQ was the brainchild of our head chef, Pete. He combined the cooking styles and signature ingredients of the Deep South with locally sourced ingredients and, of course, a Three Sisters Bake twist…and so Soul BBQ was born!

Blog-Collage-1385589612753As the frontman of a soul band, Pete was keen to complement the Soul BBQ menu with some great music.  We set out to plan a line up of great bands whose music would complement the big flavours of Soul BBQ – ribs, Southern fried buttermilk chicken, pulled pork platters and home baked pies.

The Shiverin’ Sheiks fitted the bill perfectly. They describe themselves as a “Bombastic 50′s pop, Country Gospel, Dancefloor Rock n’ Roll and Doo Wop” which was enough to get us very excited about their performance. They did not disappoint and were even good enough to don stetsons in keeping with our Soul BBQ menu! These photos, taken by Marc at One Big Picture, really capture the fantastic atmosphere, music, food and fun throughout the evening.
